Materials: 1 Skein

Materials: 1 Skein Cat Mountain Fiber Arts Fusion 500 Yarn (500 Yards, Worsted Weight).

Sample Garment knit in Raspberry Truffle

5.0 mm/US Size 8 Double pointed needle

Gauge: 16 Stitches = 4.25 inches

Lay out the five balls of yarn that were in your skein, and decide in what order you would like to knit them. The sample is knit starting with one of the smooth yarns, and I alternated smooth and fuzzy for the first five sets of rows, then repeated the yarns in the same order two more times.

  • A – 60% Merino Wool/40% Bamboo (Smooth, light sheen
  • B - 35% Baby Alpaca/30% Merino/30% Bamboo/5% Nylon (Soft Boucle)
  • C - 100% Wool (Smooth wool yarn)
  • D - 75% Merino Wool/20% Silk/5% Stellina * (Sparkle)
  • E – 78% Mohair/13% Wool/9% Nylon (Brushed Mohair)

*This yarn may be a Merino Wool and NEP (Tweed) blend

The order in which you use the yarns is not critical. That which is described below is how the sample cuffs were knit.

The cuffs measure approximately 11 inches around and 7.5 inches long.

(Make 2) Cast on 48 Stitches with Yarn A. Join in the round, being careful not to twist.

  • Rows 1-3: With Yarn A *Knit 2, Purl 2* Repeat from * to * around
  • Rows 4-9: With Yarn B *Knit 2, Purl 2* Repeat from * to * around
  • Rows 10-15: With Yarn C *Knit 2, Purl 2* Repeat from * to * around
  • Rows 16-23: With Yarn E *Knit 2, Purl 2* Repeat from * to * around
  • Rows 24-29: With Yarn D *Knit 2, Purl 2* Repeat from * to * around
  • Rows 30-36: With Yarn B *Knit 2, Purl 2* Repeat from * to * around
  • Rows 37-38: With Yarn A *Knit 2, Purl 2* Repeat from * to * around

Bind off in pattern with Yarn A. Weave in ends.

There is enough yarn in the 250-yard skein for two pairs of boot cuffs. You may also increase the number of rows of each yarn to make longer cuffs instead.
