Supplies: 1 Skein Cat Mountain Fiber Arts Fusion 500 yarn. Fusion 500 consists of a bundle that includes 100 yards each of 5 different yarns.

5.5 mm/US Size 9 circular needle, minimum length 36 inches (longer is better)

Gauge: 16 Stitches = 4 inches

Gauge is not critical, but if your gauge leans substantially to fewer stitches per inch, you may run out of yarn before finishing.

After blocking, the finished scarf measures 106 inches long (excluding fringe) and is 8 inches wide.

A – 100% Wool (Smooth wool yarn)

B - 35% Baby Alpaca/30% Merino/30% Bamboo/5 % Nylon (Soft Boucle)

C - 60% Merino Wool/40% Bamboo (Smooth, light sheen)

D - 75% Merino Wool/20% Silk/5% Stellina * (Sparkle)

E - 78% Mohair/13% Wool/9% Nylon (Brushed Mohair)

*This yarn may be a Merino Wool and NEP (Tweed) blend

This scarf is worked as a knitting stitch sampler. Each yarn in the bundle has its own stitch pattern designed to accent the different textures. Switch yarns at the end of each sequence, and leave a tail at least 9 inches long to incorporate into the fringe.

Fringe:

Cut fringe in lengths of 18 to 20 inches, 12 to 16 per yarn type. Attach 3 to 4 doubled fringe lengths (6 to 8 of the brushed mohair located in the center band) at each end on the matching stripes with a crochet hook, and knot fringe yarns of the same type together with an overhand knot, approximately one inch from the end of the scarf. Trim to a matching length.

Soak in warm water with a drop of shampoo or wool wash, roll in a towel or spin in the washer, and pin out flat to dry. Note: You may wish to attach the fringe after you block it, to keep it from getting tangled during blocking.
